It was a sweet coincidence when two well-traveled ladies met on common ground – their affinity for tea and passion for bringing people together to share stories over tea and dainty delicacies.
Mandy and Zeynep are avid tea lovers who consider it a ceremonial experience to drink tea. In their eyes, the preparation, the setting, and the people you share tea with, all contribute to making it a delightful experience.
Having experienced tea services across the world, they are determined to spread their love for afternoon tea by customizing fabulous tea ceremonies that can be enjoyed in every possible occasion.
Mandy is from South Africa and is of Indian descent where tea plays a big cultural role. Tea has always been something she requires daily. Her first memories of drinking tea are from a baby bottle, as a toddler. She prides herself on the consistent taste and flavor of her favorite tea, English Breakfast. She makes it her priority to experience afternoon teas wherever she travels and has possibly experienced all afternoon tea services in NYC over the past few years. In doing this Mandy has converted many of her friends to become tea lovers too – and enjoys teaching them how it should be served, as well as how to make the sandwiches and scones to compliment every tea ceremony.
Zeynep is from Turkey where people drink tea any time of the day. Tea has always been an essential part of her daily routines. Since she was only 12, Zeynep takes pride in her unique approach to organize tea events for family and friends. Before moving to New York, she commissioned a huge wooden box to be made by an Italian artisan just for her tea collection from around the world. Many of her closest friendships and most influential contacts were initiated during such events where she enjoys sharing her tales of tea making and some history and background about the tea being served. Now she is excited to share it with the world.
Mandy and Zeynep are thrilled about going on this new venture of bringing more tea lovers together, to captivate not just your attention but your sense of taste as well. Welcome to the afternoon tea culture!
